Cathedral Cove

Cathedral Cove is a popular tourist attraction on the North Island of New Zealand, and for good reason.  It was spectacular!

The trail to Cathedral Cove is at the top of the hill, with a stunning viewpoint:

It was noted that the walk to Cathedral Cove would take 45 minutes.  We hoped that it wouldn't turn into one hour and 45 minutes with our little ones.  They were troopers and we made it in 30 minutes, with lots of help and entertainment from the olders to keep the youngers on track.  Off we go!

After a long series of steep steps at the end of the trail, the destination opens up into view.

The girls discovered a rope swing back in the corner of the cove.  It was more popular with some than others.

The kids scrambled up to fit in the ledge of this huge rock wall, then enjoyed jumping off.

Luke and Landon giggled to watch Daddy hanging off the rock, too.

We stayed at Cathedral Cove for a good long while, but finally decided to make the trek back.

Emily had to stop for a little dance break on the trail. :)

Here's a quick clip from Narnia, Part 2 with a scene from Cathedral Cove!  The kids have enjoyed watching this since our visit.  Beautiful place!
