We have been fortunate to see many beautiful places and to capture some really great photos during our time in New Zealand up to this point, but these photos of sunset in Russell are some of the best of the bunch!
We set up camp at the Top 10 Holiday Park in Russell, then made our way to the waterfront for dinner. We picked up a hodgepodge of food and found a table right on the water. The sun was getting low and the weather was mild and pleasant...perfect setting for a picnic supper!
There was a gnarly tree right next to our table, which Emily quickly discovered:
It wasn't long before the twins made their way to the water's edge...
Rachel grabbed her camera, and she and Julia headed to the boat dock to do some exploring of their own.

Back on the beach, the twins had long since abandoned their wet pants and were enjoying splashing in their skivvies. Meanwhile, Cameron was working hard to fine tune his rock-skipping technique.
We couldn't have imagined a more perfect "Welcome to New Zealand" day for my sweet mom!
